Pilates at Pro Physical Therapy is a fully equipped Pilates Studio, offering private instruction as well as mat and chair classes. Our small classes allow our instructors to provide direct attention to their clients.

Pilates can be practiced by anyone and has many levels of proficiency.

Classes cater to individuals of all levels of fitness from classic pilates, to mat classes with a yoga influence, and even pilates from the chair for those who cannot get onto the floor.  Pilates at PRO Physical Therapy has something for everyone.

Pilates enables you to attain a state of overall fitness, and is particularly beneficial to athletes that engage in “one-side dominant” sports such as golf, racquet sports and baseball, or “body overload” sports such as running, biking or skiing.  These types of sports overwork the muscles that are already very strong while neglecting the muscles in other parts of the body.  This creates muscle imbalance.  Muscle imbalance often results in injuries.  PRO Physical Therapy offers sports specific pilates classes seasonally.

 

 
Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is preformed while standing, laying or seated on a mat.  Exercises are progressive and involve stretching and strengthening several muscle groups simultaneously.  Some equipment may be used for resistance and balance training including weights, balls, bands, rings and bosus.  Pilates is a great way to transition from physical therapy to functional exercies and pain free daily living.

Chair Pilates

Chair Pilates is for anyone that may not be comfortable getting up and down from the floor.  Pilates exercises are performed while seated in a chair or standing on the floor.  Good posture, alignment, strength, flexibility and balances are emphasized.

Pilates integrates strength and flexibility simultaneously into your exercise regiment, providing you with a very efficient, well balanced, whole body workout.  Make a commitment to a pilates program today to improve your posture, core strength and overall fitness.

Private Sessions

Private Sessions are custom designed using specialized pilates equipment for a non-impact workout that will increase muscular strength and flexibility, creating longer, leaner muscle. Sessions will improve posture, body alignment and will help prevent injury. Private training is also good for post rehab work to continue to strengthen effected areas. In addition, these sessions can be used for a detailed approach to transition to group classes.
