Getting Started

Equipment at ClinicNew Jersey state law now allows for direct access to a licensed physical therapist. This means that you can see a physical therapist without a prescription from your medical doctor and are not required to see him or her before starting physical therapy. However, some insurance companies still require a written referral from your physician for physical therapy visits to be covered. You will need to check with your insurance company to find out if a referral is required with your plan. In general, if you do not need a referral to see a specialist, then typically you will not need a referral for physical therapy.

Once a referral is obtained or deemed unnecessary, then you can call us to make an appointment. We will ask for your insurance information, so please have your insurance card handy. The receptionist will schedule your initial evaluation, which usually lasts about one hour. Please wear loose-fitting clothing so your therapist can view your injured body part and sneakers or shoes with good traction to safely use the gym equipment. We have a private locker room if you need to bring a change of clothes.

You will have to fill out some paperwork when you first arrive, so please arrive about 10-15 minutes early so we may start on time. Promptness ensures that your therapist will be able to spend the appropriate amount of time with you.

We look forward to helping speed your recovery and returning you back to good health!
